Following a very successful visit last year we are returning to target warblers and other song birds. Woodwalton is one
of the best Warbler sites in the PBC area. We can expect to hear upto 9 species of warbler singing. There are
usually several Grasshopper Warblers reeling. We may also hear booming Bittern, Marsh Harrier and several other
species of songbird.

Anybody with an interest in nature, from beginner to expert, are welcome to join us on our Outdoor Events that are
free. It is a good way to get to know existing members and possibly improve your expertise.

Meet: At 07:00 by the entrance bridge to the reserve. Park alongside the drain adjacent to the reserve.

A short AGM followed by a change to the programme due to illness. 

We are lucky to find such a good replacement as Dr Mark Avery a senior UK conservationist with nearly four decades experience of giving wildlife a better future. He worked for the RSPB for 25 years before going freelance in 2011. He co-founded the campaigning organisation Wild Justice with Chris Packham and Ruth Tingay in 2011 and was recently chair of the World Land Trust. He writes monthly comment as the Political Birder for Birdwatch Magazine.

Mark will be ranging far and wide to give his views on the state of UK birds and conservation.
