Stody
The tiny village of Stody lies just a mile west of Hunworth, and is dominated by its picturesque round-towered church. A tributary of the River Glaven runs through the village , but the main ornithological interest is the large block of mature mixed woodland belonging to the Stody Estate. There is no public access to the wood other than a permissive circular trail, provided for dog walkers and two roads that run alongside and through the wood. Breeding birds include all the usual woodland species including Buzzard, Nuthatch, Treecreeper, Firecrest and probably Siskin. Marsh Tit was formally present. The wood is surrounded by mixed farmland.
