High Kelling

High Kelling is a well wooded village on the Cromer Ridge, just east of Holt. The heart of the village is on the north side of the A148, about a mile and a half from the sea at Kelling. Mainly secondary woodland, as it was originally heathland, it is surrounded by pine plantations, notably Bodham Wood. Situated close to Kelling Heath to the north east and Lower Bodham Common to the south, it attract a good range of birds including the Cromer Ridge speciality the Firecrest.
