Corpusty & Saxthorpe

Image of Corpusty & Saxthorpe birding site

Village on the south side of the River Bure, with its twin Saxthorpe on the north bank. This part of the Bure Valley is under watched partly due to the lack of footpaths along the valley but there are many minor roads to explore. With grazing marshes and mixed woodland surrounded by more arable farmland and areas of pigs the range of birds to be found is surprisingly large. The Village Hall car park about 200m south of the Dukes Head pub on Heydon Road (NR11 6QQ) is a good point to use as a base to explore the area.
