On arriving in Burgh-next-Aylsham turn into Church Lane (NR11 6TR). There is a small parking area opposite the church. This also serves "The Reading Room" so parking end on helps maximise space for those using it. Walk through the churchyard, over the bridge and from thereon simply follow the way markers for the footpaths along the River Bure to Oxnead Bridge, Brampton. There is a return route back along the Bure Valley Railway footpath and a further walk along another stream "The Mermaid" towards Marsham. The area offers a good range of habitats, the River Bure, dykes, streams, a pond, reed beds, water meadows, pasture, some arable and trees, mainly Alder and Birch.
