Aylmerton
Aylmerton village lies just south of the Holt-Cromer ridge, approx. 2 miles from the coast, at West Runton. A small community, surrounded by mixed farm land, adjacent to the National Trust estate of Felbrigg Park. Due to its strategic location, over 200 bird species have been recorded in the area. The park holds a variety of woodland birds and is the Norfolk strong-hold for Mandarin Duck, Firecrest breed in reasonable numbers along the ridge and migration time produces regular sightings of unusual raptors. Recent scarce and rare birds have included Crane, Red-rumped Swallow, Cattle Egret, Hawfinch and Yellow-browed Warbler.
