Balgove Bay

Best viewed from the Evans Hide on the southern shore of the bay. This can be accessed by walking on the footpath through the golf course from the Eden Course clubhouse. The bay is very good for waders, particularly during the winter when a large number of species are present, including curlew, oystercatcher, knot and grey plover. Through the winter, the bay also holds a flock of Pale-bellied Brent Geese. It is also a good site for wildfowl, with good numbers of pintail present in the winter. While best viewed from the southern shore, Balgove Bay can also be viewed from Out Head, although a telescope would be required for this due to the large viewing distance.
