Birds of the Red Sea

Mangroovy Beach

Image of Mangroovy Beach birding site

Construction will being in this area later in 2024.

At the end of Mangroovy Residence is a small mangrove wetland with a bird viewing hut offering shade and shelter from the winds. It is best visited during high tide in the winter months from November to May as the summer heat and extremely low tides cause the area to dry out.

Popular with the shorebirds and waders and migratory birds passing overhead, pools of water left behind by the tide further along the beach are popular with Kentish Plovers, Redshank, Eurasian Curlews, etc.
